Timeless: Alarm Clock App Reviews

cool cool

Its cool and it works. Id like to see more features implemented like an iTunes compatibility for setting songs / playlists / podcasts as the alarms sound. Otherwise its pretty solid for a free app! good job.

Amazing app, for free?

How can this app be free? It’s so well-designed just like it’s Memory Clean counterpart that I’ve been using for over a year. Keep up the good work, FIPLAB!

Does as promised, perfectly

As usual, a FIPLAB application with a gorgeous design that does one or two things and does it perfectly. I give it four stars, I’ll add the fifth one when it’s available in more languages.

Timeless Alarm clock

I found it very handy BUT don’t keep your earphones on….

Completely annoying and impossible to delete.

I have been trying to delete this superflous app, and it’s bloody impossible,

looks nice, but I can’t use it

Still no change with the alerts stealing the focus and interrupting my typing. Very disappointing. :-( Previous review: The alerts will interrupt whatever you’re doing. It would be better if it worked through the Notification Center like other apps do. The alerts look nice, and they provide a convenient snooze feature, but they shouldn’t be stealing the focus. Other than that, the whole thing looks nice. I wish I could actually use it.

Alert

Great app. I like being able to name the alarm. I set alarms for odd little 1 time things so being able to know which alarm is going off is very useful. Now when the alarm goes off I know exactly why. Another feature I like is being able to set the alarm music. I would like it if the Alarm went off in the background instead of demanding my immediate attention.

LOVE it for my classroom!

I am using this in my 1st grade classroom to signal clean up time. I love that I can set multiple times/days and custom sounds. I have mine set to a specific song I bought from iTunes. It’s amazing and keeps me and my class on schedule automatically!

Gotta love another half baked utility,

This has great potential but currently has limitations. No way to delete an alarm. You can disable them but they still appear in the list. So you can edit a current alarm or create a new one but apparently there is no way to get rid of them once created. Lots of colors are shown but I can find no way to change them. Once an alarm sounds you must cancel it on screen to stop the sound. The Birds sound is incredibly real!!!

Easy to use with plenty of options

I especially like the option to fade in the alarm sound. Several alarm sounds are available, many of which are better than those in other alarm apps. You can even add your own sounds. Responding to sgginc: I was able to delete an alarm. Click the menubar icon, then right-click the alarm and select Delete. Having the option to Delete or Disable is quite helpful. A disabled alarm won’t ring, but it stays in the list so you can re-enable it. Cons: It would be helpful to be able to select a default alarm sound instead of having “Alarm Clock 1” be the default because it’s listed first. It would also be nice if the Fade In option could be chosen as a default instead of having to turn it on for every alarm. Like sgginc, I was unable to find a way to select colors.

Free, simple and pretty UI

Beautifully slick and easy to use alarm app. The multiple alarm feature is great and all for free - no complaints!

I have a suggestion for the developer

Can you add the option to have repeating alarms (like every hour, every day, every week, every month)? The app as it is now is extremely limited! Nice, but limited.

Don’t rate it if you don’t read the description

This utility works as advertised and is extremely polished for a 1.0 product. To the reviewer who called it “half-baked” because you couldn’t change the colors or delete an alarm, here are the simple answers: 1) The developers never meant for the colors to be changed by the user. They change on their own, according to the time of day, which I think is pretty cool. 2) To delete an alarm, just right-click or control-click on the alarm, and a pop-up menu will appear giving you the choices of Delete, Edit, or Disable. Pretty straight forward in the Mac software world. 3) It’s free, with no limitations or in-app purchases.

Does what I need it to do with a nice interface

I needed a simple alarm clock: something unobtrusive, with a menu bar icon/hidden dock icon, enough customization for some flexibility (I know that’s personal preference and doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone - it just happened to work for me with this app), and preferably a nice interface. This does all of that, for free, and while I always try to purchase apps I love, I do of course go for the free options first to see if they fit my needs. I greatly appreciate the developers’ work for this. I’ll be very interested in seeing where this app goes, feature-wise, though I don’t have anything specific I’d like to see myself. Note: As a few other reviewers mentioned not being able to delete an alarm or change its colors, and not having repeating options, I wanted to address those; right-clicking on a set alarm does give you the option to delete, and I found that the colors are not user-chosen, but adapted to the time of day the alarm is set to (morning colors are lighter yellows, oranges, pinks, evenings purples and darker blues, as shown in the screenshots). The option to repeat an alarm is there for each day of the week. I’m not sure why you’d need to repeat an alarm every hour - just set a new one for each hour needed? Having an option to repeat an alarm every month seems like overkill to me. Overall, great little app, does what it says, does what I need, no obnoxious ads or locked features for in-app purchases, and if the developers wanted to charge in the future, I’d happily buy it.

Can’t delete alarms in OS X

Cannot delete alarms in OS X. Hints given by others must be for PC/Windows. Being able to delete an alarm once its time has passed should be something intutive and easy for all input devices; mice, trackpads and trackballs.

Great clean, useful, and nice-looking little app

This little app let me clean out my cluttered Calendar reminders. Now I use Calendar for things that are due at a specific time and/or need the option of reminders ahead of time, such as appointments. I use Timeless for routine things I need to do during the day but don’t have to be done exactly at the time the alarm rings such as “clean out email” or “call Betty’ because when the alarm rings you can easily delay it for however long you want. Timeless is easy to use and uncluttered. It is easy to create alarms and to edit, delete, or disable them. (Disable is turning an alarm off while keeping it available for future use.) That the brightness and colors change according to the time of day is really nice. (That the colors, so far as I know, cannot be changed is a feature, not a bug, as it is IMO an integral part of the app’s “look and feel’.) Hightly recommended.

Timeless 1.1

Excellent utility which does exactly what I wanted with a very understandable user interface. It very easily sets alarms, as many as needed, permanent or temporary, and has an extensive choice of audio notices.

Very Nice

I like this app but would love it if the full screen nightstand mode would allow different modes and colors

Wake from Sleep

It would be very helpful if the app would wake my computer from sleep. Otherwise it’s kind of useless...

Nice App, Good Interface… Wish it had timers!

It’s a great alarm and reminder tool, but I wish it also supported timers! A second tab for timers and a hotkey to start a new one would be awesome.
